Salty Towers Fishing Update
Sooke fishing has been pretty good lately, with some nice size salmon to be caught. Here's the catch of the day from the Salty Towers crew, Neil, Michael & Hayden. That's a 15 pound winter spring salmon ... beauty!
Ron from Sidetrack Fishing Charters has also had some fun. On New Year's Day they had 10 fish to the boat (and quite a few hits). They kept 4, of which 2 were around 10lbs. The next day it was slower, including losing a good one to a seal! Then on the last tack of the day, they picked up this beautiful 14/15 pounder! The salmon were caught from the trailer park to Secretary Island ... but on any day if the bait isnt around, the fishing is skinny.
Ron from 2Reel Fishing has been having some good success lately too. Check out his report.
Finally the Sooke Fishing Adventures report provides information on a January 12th meeting in Victoria regarding the 2011 halibut fishing season ... read more here. If you like fishing halibut in Sooke and Victoria's waters, then this would be a good meeting to attend.
