Salty Towers April updates
An update on what's been going on around Salty Towers in April...
Our daughter Melody & granddaughter Addelyn spent a week enjoying the wonders of the Sooke region. We pretty much did it all ... good food at the local fine eateries, hiking, zipping, fishing, crabbing, tree hunting and whale watching.
Our first hike was to East Sooke Park to check out an unfortunate adolescent grey whale that had died and washed up on the beach. A very interesting sight, but rather sad.
The winds made fishing tough, but we gave it our best try. Motion sickness was more prevalent that catching fish, but we did well on the crab.
Too windy for fishing, so off to Adrenaline for a couple hours on the zip lines. That was a blast. While it was rough on the water, it was great for some hiking. We checked out Whiffin Spit, East Sooke Park and Port Renfrew's AVATAR Grove.
The week went by far too quickly. We soon found ourselves at the Airport saying goodbye. So, until next time, so long.
