Salty Towers April update
Hello to friends of Salty Towers in Sooke and beyond
Spring has sprung in Sooke, with plenty of variable weather to go around. One minute it is sunny, next raining, windy, calm, even a hail storm now and then. The only constant around here is change ... but the garden's blooming and the grass is green and growing, and we love it here in our little seaside hideaway.
We are thrilled to announce our long-time dock resident, Ron from Sidetrack Charters, has retired the old Sidetrack I and is gearing up a new vessel for this year's season. His new boat is a "Ranger Tug" style, 25 footer. Classic looking boat and very well-appointed ... see photos below. Much like Sidetrack I, a little out of the ordinary for typical fishing charter boats around here, but very comfortable and safe ... and most important, a great fishing platform. Should be a fun fishing season ahead!
On that note, good early season fishing reports from Sooke. Plentiful catches of spring salmon and halibut from local waters. It is always a nice time of year to visit Sooke, but right now in particular! We hope to see you soon.
